The BOA has announced that Cyprus Airways will act as the official airline carrier to Team GB for the 2004 Olympic Games.
Cyprus Airways was chosen for several reasons including the network that services the UK, Cyprus and Greece and the frequency of the flights between these destinations.
The sponsorship package includes special facilities and attractive rates for all Team GB athletes and officials to the BOA’s preparation camp in Cyprus plus travel on to the Olympic Games in Athens.
Simon Clegg, chief executive of the BOA, said: "Today’s announcement is the final critical component in the BOA’s aspirations to establish a permanent warm weather training facility in the Mediterranean.
"It will benefit not only Team GB as they fly to and from Athens next year but also the Olympic governing bodies as they make use of the outstanding arrangements which we have put in place in Cyprus. This partnership will ensure the best possible preparations for Team GB athletes in the build up to the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens."
The British Olympic Association (BOA) has signed a sponsorship deal with Cyprus Airways ahead of next year's Olympic Games in Athens.
