Toshiba jetting off to the NFL

NFL team the New York Jets have signed a lucrative sponsorship deal with electronics firm Toshiba.

The one year partnership is designed to promote Toshiba's commitment to combining its industry-leading high definition integrated and flat panel TV sets with the HD content available today via the National Football League.
As part of the sponsorship package, Toshiba will partner with a number of NY Jets players including Vinny Testaverde, Santana Moss and Sean Ellis.
In addition to guest appearances at local events and specific product quotes, player collaboration will include a photo shoot with the players demonstrating some of Toshiba's latest products including its line of portable DVD players.
Toshiba will also be the presenting sponsor of the Weekly Player Diary hosted on the New York Jets official website (www.newyorkjets.com). As part of an online enter-to-win contest, one fan will have the opportunity to conduct the player interview for one week during the regular season.
"We are very pleased to have secured a sponsorship partnership with the New York Jets. As a leader in HD technology it made perfect sense to partner with the NFL - one of the pioneers in building consumer awareness of high- definition content through the distribution of nationally televised sports," said Tina Tuccillo, vice president of marketing communications for Toshiba.
"This agreement also enables Toshiba to build awareness of its own brand, both locally and nationally through an integrated marketing campaign."
In line with its integrated marketing efforts, Toshiba will also be able to promote the sponsorship through a number of internet, print and radio advertising opportunities. More specifically, Toshiba will receive a full page branding advertisement in special sections being run by Newsday and The Daily News as well as the New York Jets 2003 Review Yearbook and 2004 Preview Yearbook.
Toshiba will also support the HD aspect of the promotion via "The Image of the Game" radio campaign which will promote Toshiba's 2004 promotional campaign "Image is Everything".
