Speaking at a news press conference, Rogge poured cold water on reports that the IOC would follow the lead of soccer governing body FIFA which has made a point of taking the World Cup tournament to each continent in turn.
Explained Rogge: "We cannot go FIFA’s way because there might be a case where we get a single weak bid from a country with poor facilities and if we are tied to offering the Games, then we would have a poorly organized event.
"Our choice is to invite all those who want to host, and pick the best."
International Olympic Committee president Jacques Rogge has ruled out the possibility of rotational hosting of the Olympics from continent to continent.
