HSBC bank AFL club

AFL club Hawthorn has signed a new three-year naming rights deal with financial firm HSBC.

The deal will see the club known as the HSBC Hawks as of January 1 next year.

Said HSBC CEO Stuart Davis: “Our aim is for more Australians to be familiar with HSBC and the range of banking solutions we offer.

"In 2004, the HSBC Hawks will play a major role in building our brand awareness in Victoria and driving business growth nationally.

"The popularity of AFL presents us with an ideal opportunity to reach both a passionate and highly involved audience."

The HSBC brand will appear on all club attire as well as signage at the MCG and Glenferrie Oval.

HSBC replaces previous sponsor Samsung.
