Time Warner Cable, Cox Communications
and Cablevision Systems have all entered into multi-year agreements for the distribution of NBA TV, the league’s 24-hour network.
Beginning next month, Time Warner Cable, Cox and Cablevision will make NBA TV available to more than 22 million customers of the three companies.
Following the new deals, NBA TV is now available to 45 million US homes and in 30 countries.
Commented NBA commissioner David Stern: "Time Warner Cable, Cox and Cablevision are among the most powerful players in the cable industry and NBA TV’s added cable distribution marks a
significant milestone in the development of the network.
"Since NBA TV’s launch four years ago, we have been committed to providing television viewers with unparalleled access to our game, and these
alliances allow millions of additional fans to enjoy the most comprehensive and authentic coverage of the game they love."
The addition of live games to NBA TV's programming schedule has made the channel a much more attractive product to pay-TV operators both in the US and abroad with the distribution of the offering rising significantly in the last few months.
NBA has significantly increased the distribution of its dedicated TV channel, NBA TV, after signing carriage deals with three of the US' largest cable operators.
