WPP-owned Global Sportnet and the new Dentsu/Publicis agency iSe are touted as favourites to acquire the shares of either RTL, Canal+ or even both - putting the very future of Sportfive as it currently exists into some doubt.
Meanwhile, Octagon - which is continuing to go through internal upheaval with Mark Dowley due to leave his position as chief of Interpublic Sport & Entertainment Group (under which Octagon is managed) later this month - has also been linked. It is, however, seen as a rank outsider.
