De la Hoya PPV fight boosts HBO

The super welterweight championship fight between Oscar de la Hoya and Shane Mosley last weekend produced US pay-per-view revenues of $50.2million for host broadcaster HBO Sports.

HBO Sports reported that 975,000 pay-per-view buys were generated from the fight
at the MGM Grand Hotel Casino in Las Vegas.
The 975,000 buys consisted of 600,000 purchases
from cable systems and 375,000 buys from satellite homes throughout the US.
The numbers were an improvement upon last September pay-per-view figures from De La Hoya's fight against Fernando Vargas which generated 935,000 buys and $47.6m in revenue.
