Eurosport says more than 75m viewers tuned in across the continent to watch its coverage of the Tour de France - a leap of 35 percent.

German saw the biggest individual market boost, with ratings up 88 percent on 2002.

Crucial time-trials scored the best results with 2.1m viewers, peaking at 4.1m for Ullrich and Armstrong finishes.

Meanwhile, the Tour de France section at eurosport.com set a new record of 35m page impressions, breaking the site's highest monthly audience set in June 2002 at the FIFA World Cup.
