Oceania rep to lose FIFA post

Ahongalu Fusimalohi, Oceania's representative on the executive board of soccer governing body FIFA, looks set to lose his post.

Fusimalohi is expected to resign from his position after the regional body he represents passed a vote of no confidence in his abilities.
The vote comes just a few weeks after FIFA reneged on its agreement to allow the winners of the Oceania qualification group direct passage to the World Cup Finals.
Instead the world governing body reverted back to the play-off system with the Oceania winner having to take on a South American country before gaining entry to the World Cup.
Following a meeting in Auckland, the executive committee of the Oceania Football Confederation voted 9-0 in a no confidence motion.
Following Fusimalohi's resignation, a new FIFA representative is expected to be unveiled at a congress on September 6.
