The Beijing marketing campaign, which was scheduled for launch in May but had to be postponed due to the impact of the SARS virus, will now be launched on September 1.
The organising committee has stated that a "grand ceremony" is being planned for the launch of the campaign with IOC president Jacques Rogge expected to be in attendance.
The approach of the Beijing committee to marketing the Games is widely anticipated given the emergence of China as a potentially big market in for sports industry.
The organising committee for the Beijing 2008 Olympics is to reveal the agenda of its marketing programme at the beginning of September.
