Premiere wins CL rights in Germany

Premiere has won the exclusive pay-TV rights in Germany to the Champions League after the broadcast platform concluded a three-year deal with UEFA and its agency TEAM Marketing.

Premiere will broadcast all games live as well as highlights on both Tuesday and Wednesday and a magazine programme.
Premiere has been a partner of the UEFA Champions League for the past three years with the new deal running until the end of the 2005/06 season.
Free-to-air rights to the tournament in Germany were previously awarded to ProSiebenSat1, who will show one match per matchweek on either Tuesday or Wednesday evenings on Sat1.
This match will also be broadcast simultaneously on Premiere.
Commenting on the deal, UEFA CEO Gerhard Aigner, said: "We are pleased to continue our fruitful partnership with a top-quality broadcaster and give fans the widest opportunity to watch Europe’s premier club competition in Germany.
"I offer my congratulations to everyone involved in the process. We look forward to a new and exciting period for the UEFA Champions League in Germany for clubs, supporters and broadcasters."
