Lewis beat Klitschko after gaining a sixth-round technical knock-out in Los Angeles two weeks ago.
The Briton was then expected to turn his attention to a big-money bout with Roy Jones Jnr but seems to favour another fight with Klitschko.
Said Lewis: "I'm opting more for the rematch - I enjoyed that fight. They (Klitschko's camp) should agree to it. If not, then we will have to look at other options, like Roy Jones, or call it a day."
Lewis is one of boxing's few remaining big name draws and his imminent retirement has left the sport's hierarchy desparate to fill the void.
A fight between Lewis and Roy Jones would probably appeal to the promoters the most as it would thrust the young boxer firmly into the limelight. Jones has already captured the imagination of the boxing public after stepping up from the middleweight division to claim the WBA heavyweight title last March.
A rematch between world heavyweight champion Lennox Lewis and Vitali Klitschko is on the cards with the bout likely to take place on December 6.
