Hong Kong is to bid to host the 5th East Asian Games scheduled to be held in 2009.
In announcing the intention to bid, Patrick Ho, the secretary of state for home affairs in Hong Kong stated that the Games will cost around $21.9million.
The Games accomodate 2,000 athletes from 11 countries in East Asia.
Hong Kong recently lost its bid for the 2006 Asian Games that will be held in Dohar, Qatar.
