GCC bowls problem for ICC

Global Cricket Corporation's compensation claim following the Cricket World Cup earlier this year is set to loom large on the agenda of the ICC during a week-long series of meetings taking place in London.

Leading decision makers in world cricket have gathered at Lord's cricket ground for the meetings, which will also see a change in the ICC president, as Malcolm Gray's three-year tenure comes to an end and the nominee of the Pakistan Cricket Board, Ehsan Mani takes over the role.

But it is GCC's compensation claims which could have the biggest impact on the sport. It is fuming over games not played including New Zealand and England - and the impact that had on its selling of the TV rights.

Other items on the agenda include proposals on how to most effectively consult with player representative bodies.

The meetings at Lord’s will conclude with an open forum on Thursday that will be addressed by the new ICC president and ICC chief executive Malcolm Speed.

Following the meetings, the board of ICC Development International Ltd (IDI) – the commercial element of the ICC – moves to Monaco to discuss financial and commercial issues on June 20.
