The local organising committee for the Germany 2006 FIFA World Cup is to set up an independent, non-profit-making limited liability company to handle cultural activities around the tournament.
To be formed on July 1, the Berlin-based company will boast its own separate management board, and was initiated at a recent meeting of the 2006 steering commission, a body set up by the organising committee’s advisory board.
The articles of association for the new company will be ready for the next meeting of the advisory board on June 18 in Frankfurt when a final decision is due to be made.
