Giants push for stadium control

Officials from the NFL's New York Giants will meet again today with executives of the New Jersey Sports and Exposition Authority in a bid to win management control of the stadium.

Talks yesterday broke down with no agreement reached.
The NFL team are keen to invest $275m into the stadium in order to bring it up to the standards required to host the Super Bowl in 2008, but negotiations are stalling over the price the Giants should pay to take over the running of the venue.
Said a Giants spokesman: "If we continue to have discussions we have to be optimistic that at some point we can reach an agreement."
