The European Commission examined ticket related arrangements for the first time, after local organisers ATHOC requested recognition of its ticketing programme.
The European Commission said it welcomed arrangements put in place for the sale of tickets online, and that they safeguard consumer interest and compliance with competition rules.
Athens 2004 is the first Games in a European city since European legislation adopted the provision of simultaneous delivery of tickets to all European Union citizens.
