The Brazilian Olympic Committee has begun its evaluation process of Sao Paulo as part of the process of nominating its candidate for the 2012 Olympic Games.

Champion Nadia, the municipal secretary of sports, leisure and recreation of Sao Paulo, is hosting meetings for the president of the BOC's evaluation commission, Andres Richer.
Reports suggest that the bid has a 75 percent approval rating from its 18 million inhabitants that make up the largest city in South America.
Sao Paulo is competing against Rio de Janeiro and must win a majority of the 34 eligible votes to receive the national nomination. The Olympic Games have never been held in South America and IOC president Jacques Rogge has stressed that he would like to have them visit the continent soon.
The evaluation visit is expected to last until Friday and a vote will be held July 7 to determine which Brazilian city will be nominated to battle for the 2012 Games.
