Rogers Communications, parent company of the baseball franchise, says it is making the move in a bid to bring the Toronto community together and show that the SARS outbreak is not turning the city into a no-go zone.
Said president Ted Rogers: "We encourage everyone to attend the game and show the world that Toronto is safe, Toronto is dynamic and Toronto continues to be a world-class city."
In a bid to beat off negative publicity generated by the SARS epidemic, Major League Baseball's Toronto Blue Jays is offering $1 tickets for tomorrow's game against the Texas Rangers.
