Athens wins Rogge backing

The organisers of the Athens 2004 Olympic Games have received a boost after IOC president Jacques Rogge said he was 'confident' the city would be ready in time.

As a three-day inspection of facilities gets underway, Rogge's comments will come as a relief to the local organising committee ATHOC, who had originally been on the receiving end of a Rogge blast over its planning earlier this year.
