Virus hits Asian snooker event

The Asian Snooker Championship is the latest event to be cancelled as a result of the growing spread of the deadly SARS virus in the region.

The championship, which was scheduled to take place between April 18-26 in Calcutta in India, has been postponed indefinitely due to the outbreak of the fatal respiratory disease.
The Asian Confederation of Billiards Sports (ACBS) made the decision after the countries of a number of participating players had been affected by the disease.
