The Arena AufSchalke in Gelsenkirchen, Germany will host the 2004 UEFA Champions League final it has been confirmed.
At the UEFA Executive Committee meeting, Ullevi Stadium in Gothenburg, Sweden was also handed the right to stage the 2004 UEFA Cup final.
The meeting also received reports of 'positive' progress in preparations for Euro 2004 and the sale of Champions League TV rights for the 2003-06 seasons.
Earlier in the day, UEFA CEO Gerhard Aigner announced he was to step down from the position to take early retirement at the end of the year.
