Burk won't let up on CBS

Martha Burk, the leader of the protest against the all-male membership of Augusta National Golf Club, has launched another scathing attack on CBS in bid to make the US broadcaster drop its coverage of the Masters tournament.

Continuing her assault on the set-up at Augusta, Burk has stated that plans by CBS to televise this year's Masters Tournament offended US women fighting in the Iraq war.
Burk, president of the National Council of Women's Organizations, joined forces with New York City Council member Gale Brewer to again urge CBS to drop the tournament's telecast.
Brewer and other council members have introduced a resolution condemning Augusta National for 'segregation' practices and CBS for continuing to broadcast golf's first major tournament of the year.

Commented Burk: "Broadcasting the Masters now, and showcasing a club that discriminates against women, is an insult to the nearly quarter- million women in the US armed forces."
