Events saved after promoter bankruptcy

The Ladies European Tour says two events in Scandinavia will still go-ahead despite the collapse of tournament promoters Sponsor Service.

The firm recently filed for bankruptcy, putting the future of the P4 Norwegian Masters and Danish Masters in jeopardy.
But after discussions between the Tour and two new tournament promoters, Ian Randell, chief executive of the LET, remains confident that the events will go ahead as scheduled.
He said: "We are in the process of transferring the existing agreements to new promoters and they will be active in the market place over the up-coming weeks and we are confident that the necessary funding will be secured to safeguard the future of these tournaments.
"Keith Woods and Bjorn Westergaard, both formerly of Sponsor Service, have each taken the respective projects with them to their new companies and we are extremely confident that these events will go ahead as planned. It has been a worrying time for us over the last few weeks and everyone involved is working incredibly hard to rescue these events."
