As the ICC starts a two-day executive committee meeting which includes a preliminary look at how the tournament has performed, it was revealed the ICC anticipate making a $80m (EUR76m) award to the host nation and $8m (EUR7.5m) in costs.
The remaining $100m ($95m) will be shared out between the competing nations and ICC associate members.
However, the ICC could withhold funds from both England and New Zealand who boycotted games in Zimbabwe and Kenya, respectably. A sum which is expected to run into millions.
Said Malcolm Gray, president of the ICC: "There are several contractual issues which have been put to one side until the tournament is finished.
"They will probably go to arbitration to determine the amount.
"No decision has been made about compensation but I expect it to be brought up at the Board meeting. It is possible that money from the World Cup could be withdrawn until this is resolved."
