The FIFA president will host the conference on April 8 in Zurich - with the closing accounts for the 2002 World Cup and the 1999-2002 period coming under the spotlight.
Said Blatter: "At the congresses in Seoul last year, FIFA pledged to provide more information in this respect.
"Since the start of this year, FIFA has been using International Accounting Standards (IAS/IFRS) for its yearly accounts. These
standards are used by listed companies and will also become binding for such companies within the European Union in 2005.
"FIFA has freely chosen to convert to these standards and as an association can be seen to be a pioneer in this regard. This decision goes hand in hand with a more comprehensive communications policy, and this first ever media conference on our finances is indeed proof of that."
Blatter will be joined by general secretary Urs Linsi and other financial experts for the conference.
