Boosting ticket sales forms a key component in the league’s new commercial set-up.
The new programme was initiated at a recent marketing workshop which saw representatives from the majority of clubs hear new plans to bring the league more commercial success.
The clubs to have signed up are CSKA Moscow, Adecco ASVEL, Unicaja and Alba Berlin.
Said Euroleague consultant Marshall Glickman: “We developed the Euroleague Ticketing Programme to give our clubs the opportunity to really become expert at ticket sales.
“This shows that in addition to being the best European basketball competition, we are also making great strides as a business.
“We will work with the participating clubs on new ticket options, like mini-plans and group sales, on having a full range of price levels, on making tickets available via the internet and on sales and customer service.”
The Euroleague Ticketing Programme kicks off immediately, as the participating clubs will begin a programme to recruit new employees who will specialise in ticket sales. Once these sales professionals are hired, Euroleague will kick off a series of training sessions designed to enhance the salesperson’s knowledge and skills. Over the course of the summer, Euroleague and its consultants will be working directly with the clubs to develop a variety of new ticket packages at a range of price levels.
