Budgets under UEFA spotlight

European soccer's governing body is set to approve its budget for the 2003/4 financial year when the XXVII Ordinary UEFA Congress takes place in Rome at the end of this month.

During the meeting on March 27 - which sees representatives from all of UEFA's 52 member associations attend the yearly event - the annual statement of accounts for 2001/02 will be also be submitted for approval.
The congress will also deal with the financial report submitted by UEFA's official auditors for the 2001/02 financial year.
Delegates will also be presented with the annual report of the UEFA chief executive, Gerhard Aigner, which gives comprehensive details of UEFA's internal and external activities over the past year, as well as the report on UEFA activities prepared by UEFA's supreme Executive Body, the Executive Committee.
A review and preview of UEFA's assistance programme activities will also be presented in Rome, and discussions will take place about the agenda for the extraordinary congress to be held by world football's governing body, FIFA, in Doha, Qatar in October.
