BSI signs Norwegian deal

Norwegian commercial terrestrial broadcaster, TV2, has agreed a contract with Benfield Sports International (BSI) to broadcast the FIM Speedway Grand Prix Series.

It represents the first time the nine-round world championship series will be transmitted on free-to-air television in Norway, with TV2 broadcasting highlights of all nine rounds the Sunday after each Grand Prix.

Said John Postlethwaite, chief executive, Benfield Sports International, rights-holders to the event: “We brought the Grand Prix to Norway for the first time last year and will be back at the Vikingship Stadium, Hamar, in October. Combined with the interest in Norwegian rider Rune Holta there is no doubt Norway is becoming a strong market for the Series.”
