Burk ups pressure on Augusta

Tagged in &

As the Masters golf tournament draws nearer, Martha Burk (pictured), the leader of the National Council of Women's Organizations, has stepped up the pressure in the protest over Augusta National Golf Club's all-male policy.

Burk has stated that she hopes to meet with CBS president Les Moonves to discuss her request for the network to drop this year's coverage of the Masters.
She commented: "I would say he certainly would consider it. I would say (the chances) are not zero."

CBS, which has televised 47 consecutive Masters tournaments, has continually rebuffed previous requests from Burk to schedule a meeting with Moonves.

"CBS will be broadcasting The Masters (April 10-13)," said LeslieAnne Wade, CBS Sports vice president of communications. "Beyond that we will have no further comment at this time."
