The organization committee’s revenue will be audited every six months between 2002 and 2006, and every three months in 2007 and 2008.
As well as the regular audits, the members of the organising committee will also be prohibited from running their own businesses in an attempt to curb corruption.
According to Xinhua News Agency, Li Binghua, vice chairman of Beijing’s organizing committee said: "Special measures have been adopted to guard against and prevent any possible corruption and unhealthy tendencies in the work of building the facilities."
The organising committee's financial matters such as financing, materials, ticketing and donations will also be monitored by a supervision committee.
