Speculation around the pair and their dealings with the richest club in world soccer has circulated for months, as they began increasing their holding in the club.
According to reports, the duo - close friends with the club's manager Alex Ferguson - increased their holding in the club from 6.77 percent to 10.37 percent.
The shares were purchased through their company Cubic Expression, which is registered in the British Virgin Islands.
The stake now pushes them ahead of BSkyB, the media company with a 9.9 percent stake, and the former major shareholders.
Share sales in the club has generated a number of headlines recently.
Just last week US billionaire, and owner of the NFL's Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Malcolm Glazer, bought a 2.9 percent stake in the club in a deal worth an estimated $14m.
Days before that, a consortium led by TV executive John de Mol - chairman of Dutch TV production firm Endemol - bought a 2.5 percent stake in the Old Trafford team.
