The firm will fill the new role of ‘Platinum Partner’ as the Lions embark on a 2003 campaign to claim the AFL’s first premiership hat-trick since the 1950s.
It is an initiative primarily undertaken by Golden Circle, Australia's largest grower-owned fruit and vegetable company, to increase brand awareness and exposure in the southern markets.
Said Golden Circle managing director Barry Kelly: "We are very strong in Queensland and by becoming a sponsor of the Lions, we will have better access to the AFL stronghold states and southern markets such as Victoria, South Australia and Western Australia."
