The tournament in South Africa has been the subject of frenzied betting activity with reports that India's games against Australia and England took in more than £100m in wagers each.
While the sub-continent is at the centre of the surge in betting despite its strict laws on gambling, English bookmakers are also making good revenue from the tournament with an estimated £1m brought in on the opening match between West Indies and South Africa alone.

Betting at the Cricket World Cup is on course to exceed the £1billion mark - a record level for such activity at the tournament.
