USOC set for downsizing

Tagged in

In light of recent scandals, the United States Olympic Committee (USOC) is set for a major overhaul after a reform task force agreed to recommend a downsizing of the governing body's operations.

The USOC has been hit by an ethics scandal which has seen a number of top figures resign including the body's president Marty Mankaymer.
Given the internal chaos, a 10-member governance review was ordered and the task force, formed two weeks ago, has announced its initial recommendations that the vast board of directors by cut down thus handing operational control over to the USOC's full-time professional staff.
The task force is due to present its report to the 123-member USOC board in April after it has finalised the details of its review.
