Minardi moves to Bridgestone

Formula One oufit Minardi has agreed a tyre deal with Bridgestone for the 2003 season following the expiration of the team's contract with Michelin.

Minardi's deal with Michelin expired at the end of last year but a hitch in the negotiations with Bridgestone meant they were forced to use Formula 3000 tyres in their first tests at Valencia last month ahead of the new season.
However, the Bridgestone contract has now been signed with Minardi joining a host of other F1 teams in using the tyre supplier.
Commented team boss Paul Stoddart: "We're very pleased to have brought these negotiations to a satisfactory conclusion at last."
