Eurosport tunes in to CART

Building on its European expansion plans, US motor racing series CART has signed a broadcast rights deal with Eurosport.

The pan-regional pay-TV network will provide coverage of all 19 Champ Car races that make up the CART series as part of the new three-year deal.
The agreement comes after CART had negotiated to stage races in the UK and Germany as well as the growing number of European drivers now competing in the Champ Car series.
Comments Timothy Mayer, CART's international operations and development director: "We are very pleased to be able to provide this pan-European broadcast platform as part of our marketing strategy in Europe. We are finalizing
other terrestrial television deals in a number of countries which will be announced in the near future."
The new deal with Eurosport gives the Champ Car World Series a reach of over 93 million homes and 250 million viewers in 54 countries. Programming
is delivered simultaneously in 18 European languages.
