RDM bowls up SMS service

Rivals Digital Media (RDM) is launching a new SMS service to tie up with the start of the Cricket World Cup.

Put together by RDM’s Cape Town office, the service covers all teams in the tournament and subscribers will receive a number of alerts during each game.
Customers can sign up at RDM's Cricket365.com website.
RDM has further expanded availability of the new Cricket World Cup SMS service by securing several high profile partners, both on and offline, who will be distributing their own branded versions of the cricket SMS alert package. In each of the partner cases, fulfilment of the SMS service will be handled by RDM.
In the online arena, Tiscali and Freeserve will tie the availability of cricket World Cup SMS alerts into their portals’ sports sections’ editorial cricket coverage, which is also provided by RDM.
Then UK High Street chain store Dixons and Vodafone will be offering the cricket SMS alerts offline, via physical box packs available for purchase from their high street stores.

Said Steve Clarke, director of business development for RDM: “There is already huge interest in the upcoming cricket World Cup and with our mobile services department already delivering seasonal SMS alert packages for football, rugby and F1, launching a cricket World Cup alert service was an obvious extension to our range.
“With a second office, and a full time independent editorial team based in Cape Town, South Africa, Cricket365 is perfectly positioned to make sure it provides its users with up to the minute updates and SMS alerts on all the action surrounding the cricket World Cup matches.”
