The Canterbury Bulldogs have signed up Mitsubishi Electric as a major sponsor in a new long-term deal.
Said Bulldogs chief executive Steve Mortimer: "I am very thankful and at the same time excited that such a large global corporation such as Mitsubishi Electric sees the opportunity and potential of being a sponsor of the Bulldogs.
"I am indeed honoured that a company with such a high priority on corporate governance is able to give the Bulldogs such a vote of respectability."
Following in the footsteps of the Bulldogs, South Sydney has also signed up a new sponsor in the form of national lighting company Allight.
The backing will bring the club more than AUS$2million over the next two years making it one of the most lucrative sponsorship deals ever seen in the National Rugby League.
The injection of sponsorship revenue into the NRL clubs will do much to reinvigorate the league's image after the revelations of recent months.
Amid allegations of tax evasion and financial irregularities, the Bulldogs admitted that it had broken the salary cap ruling - an admission that saw the club's board of directors stand down.
Since then, the Australian government's tax office has ordered a full investigation of the NRL and its players' financial matters - an enquiry that is currently underway.
Australian rugby league has been buoyed after two clubs signed major sponsorship deals this week, helping to ease the pressure on the sport caused by revelations of financial inaccuracies.
