Dentsu, the Japanese giant which recently formed iSe, a new sports marketing group with French communications firm the Publicis Group, holds the rights for the athletics meetings staged in Zurich, Brussels, Oslo, Berline, Rome and Paris.
It has now appointed Athletics Management & Services GmbH (AMS) to manage the broadcast rights. AMS will also continue with the event management, marketing and operations for all IAAF World Athletics Series events including the forthcoming IAAF World Indoor Championships in Birmingham, the IAAF World Championships in Paris 2003 and Helsinki 2005.
The Series also includes the World Cross Country Championships, World Junior Championships, World Youth Championships, World Race Walking Championships, World Half Marathon Championships, World Cup and World Athletics Final.
AMS was founded by former ISL executives Chris Horrigan and Stephan Brubacher following the collapse of sports marketing giant ISL.
MS Group company, Asian Games Marketing Limited (AGML), was recently responsible for the successful marketing of the Asian Games, Busan 2002, the largest multi-sport event after the Olympic Games.
AMS provides marketing and event delivery services for the IAAF, Olympic Council of Asia, and Golden League meetings.
