TV takes Super Bowl worldwide

The NFL has announced that the Super Bowl will be broadcast to 800 million people in 220 countries around the world.

The game, which takes place in San Diego on January 26, will be covered on-site by 15 broadcasters including NHK and NTV (Japan), Televisa (Mexico), SBS (Netherlands), NTV (Russia), Sky Sports and Five (UK).
Said NFL commissioner Paul Tagliabue: "The growing need for football beyond the borders of the US is evidenced by the tremendous interest in the Super Bowl from every corner of the globe."
