Barcelona has said the 11-day tour was drawn up as part of its deal with the NFL, which sees the Spanish club promote NFL Europe in exchange for access to the potentially hugely lucrative US market.
Said a Barca spokesman: "The tour forms part of the club's commercial strategy which is designed to open up the US market.
"It will represent an important source of revenue in terms of television rights, sponsorship and marketing."
Manchester United already has a similar deal in place with the New York Yankees baseball team.
European soccer giants Barcelona, Manchester United and Juventus are all taking part in a promotional tour of the US next year in what is seen as a mass marketing push for the trio.
