Clubs surf the Chinese web

Granada Sport and Interactive - the new media partner of English Premier League soccer sides Arsenal and Liverpool - has struck a deal to market the clubs' websites in China.

The agreement with internet portal Yahoo! Hong Kong will see both clubs roll-out Chinese-language online presences at asia.arsenal.com and hk.liverpool.tv respectively.
Yahoo! Hong Kong will act as the official online partner for the clubs in the region handling hosting and technical support for the ventures as well as marketing the sites and providing advertising opportunities.
The initiative by Granada on behalf of Liverpool and Arsenal is the latest move into the Asian market by Premier League clubs as they look to take advantage of the growing popularity of soccer in the region.
Manchester United has already enjoyed substantial success with its Far East operations while Everton has signed a Chinese shirt sponsor and is looking to develop its links with Asia still further.
