It will come as some relief after weeks of negative publicity surrounding the loss making unit of the sports marketing giant.
Octagon Motorsports retail brand, FirstPlace 4, has reported a 500 percent increase in direct sales and High Street retail sales are up by more than 62 percent.
The company confirmed motorsports activities represented over 50 percent of the sales for the year with the rally experience being the best seller in the lead-up to the key Christmas period.
Other strong performers included the Ferrari driving and single-seater racing experiences. FirstPlace 4 also reported strong sales for its beauty and spa packages and Early Drive and skiing activities that have proven popular with women and the youth market respectively.
In addition to the gift lifestyle experiences Octagon Motorsports has also created bespoke packages for key events at their circuits, such as the World Superbikes Championships and the Foster’s British Grand Prix.
Michael Browning, managing director, Octagon Motorsports UK, said: “The increased sales figures are largely attributable to the rapid growth of this sector as well as the changing demands of the UK consumers’ leisure habits. We are delighted that our retail sales are so strong particularly as we are approach the critical Christmas period.”
