Norwegian commercial broadcaster TV2 has agreed the sum after doping accusations against Norwegian top athletes in 'The State of the Nation' programme were found to be false.
TV2 reported falsely that prior to the 1994 Lillehammer Olympics, the nation's cross-country skiing team ordered medication that may have contained banned drugs from pharmaceuticals manufacturer Astra.
The compensation will be spent on organizing a press conference during the World Cup in Finland, a publicity campaign, and supporting international efforts against dope in sports.
