Nou Camp closure looms for Barca

Spanish soccer giant Barcelona could be hit substantially in the pocket if it is forced to close its Nou Camp stadium following violence at last weekend's league match against Real Madrid.

If the club is found guilty of crowd disorder by the Spanish Football Federation then the stadium could be closed for anything up to four games - a mvoe that would mean a major loss of revenue through gate receipts.
Barcelona has until Friday to defend itself to the Spanish FA, which has put the incident within its categories of 'serious' or 'very serious'.
If the governing body finds the club guilty of a 'serious' offence, it can close the Nou Camp stadium for one to three matches. It can stretch the punishment to four matches or a year if deemed 'very serious'.

Fans of the Catalan club pelted former player Luis Figo with various objects when he was taking a corner during last Saturday's goalless draw against Real Madrid.
