TNSSport highlights O2 success

Soccerscope, the research tool used by marketing agency TNSSport to track sponsorship effectiveness, has pointed to the rapid success of O2 - shirt sponsor of English Premier League side Arsenal.

The mobile phone brand, which took over as Arsenal's shirt sponsor from Sega Dreamcast at the start of the season, has achieved substantial recognitition levels in the initial three month period of its contract.
According to research done by Soccerscope, 45 percent of respondents correctly associated O2 with the Arsenal team. Put in context, a number of more established shirt sponsors in the Premier League only achieved 20 percent recognition in the same period.
The awareness levels where even more impressive for O2 in the key 16-24 demographic with over 55 percent of respondents linking the brand to Arsenal.
TNSSport attributed much of O2's success to its associated marketing activity which has highlighted the sponsorship deal.
