Following on from comments made on this site by the head of Octagon's football department - Phil Carling, the former commercial director of the English Football Association (FA), his then counterpart at the Premier League has struck back and dismissed his proposal.
Carling had suggested, following recent upheavals within the FA, that the newly proposed Professional Game Board should handle the rights for all key FA, Premier League and Football League properties, arguing a joint sale would make sound commercial sense.
However, his suggestions have been challenged by Stephen Pearson the former commercial director of the Premier League, and now managing director at stadia naming rights company Sportacus.
Said Pearson, who read Carling's comments on sportbusiness.com
