The agreement - similar to a previous deal the Yankees signed with the Nippon Ham Fighters of the Pacific League - will allow both teams to utilise each others commercial clout in their homelands to boost interest levels.
Said Yankees president Randy Levine: "We'll be working within the rules of baseball to do things together that can help drive growing the game all over the world."
Such cross promotional deals are becoming increasingly popular among the biggest sporting brands. The Yankees have a similar deal in place with English soccer giants Manchester United, while the NFL's European operation has joint deals with the likes of Spanish soccer club Barcelona.
The New York Yankees are looking to build on their international following after signing a marketing and scouting deal with Japan's top baseball team the Yomiuri Giants.
