Ski World Cup to break TV records

Media Partners Group, which distributes the broadcast rights to the Ski World Cup, has stated that the 2002-2003 competition will receive record levels of worldwide television exposure.

Media Partners announced that this season's Ski World Cup would receive more than 2500 hours of broadcast coverage across the world, the most the competition has ever received.
Amongst the major deals the rights holder has secured include an agreement with Channel 4 in the UK, which will show 30 live contests and Eurosport and Sport Plus in France. Television coverage is also guaranteed in the major markets of Germany, Austria and Switzerland as well as regions further afield including the US, Japan and Korea.
Media Partners is also in negotiations with Italian free-to-air broadcaster RAI with regard to a broadcast package although, with the start of the competition getting ever closer, the deal may not be signed in time to cover the first few events.
